Marshall Chapter 22. Marshall's Allowed To Be A Little Pushy

And what a joy it was to see.

Marshall has developed a great taste for the dog treats I make at home. In fact, he refuses almost any other at this point, except bacon. He LOVES bacon.

For the past few days he’s gotten so excited that he dances around, gets up on his hind legs and pushes his way past the other two Jacks to be first in line. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me.

Understand - I have some of the best-behaved Jack Russell’s you’ll find anywhere. I think it’s responsible to teach a dog to be a good citizen no matter what breed they are. But in Marshall’s case, he was so abused his entire life he never learned, as a puppy, how to be a dog. So I’m allowing his bad manners and reveling in the concept that he’s actually feeling comfortable enough to BE a dog.

We’re rejoicing on this end, even though Sharkey thinks it’s entirely rude.
