Marshall Bites the Monkey

In our world where the most minute steps forward are celebrated as if the greatest of accomplishments, I’m pleased to announce that Marshall bit the monkey!

In explanation. Sharkey has a toy sock puppet monkey. This was purchased because a friend of mine and I have a joke about sock puppet monkeys. We take great delight in sending photos of torturing the sock puppet ….for reasons there is no need to disclose here. Suffice it to say photos of Sharkey chewing the toy to bits are a great delight.

Marshall, for whatever reason, has decided that this toy should belong to him. He’s never shown interest in any toys so it came as a great surprise when, as he was on his way to the back door, he grabbed the monkey and took it with him! He was ill prepared, however, for the giant squeak it let out as he bit down on it. Scared him half to death – he dropped it and ran for his life. As sad as it was, it was funny at the same time.

It didn’t deter him however. He picked it back up on his way in, by the leg this time avoiding the squeaker. Sharkey seems content to let him have it. For now.

Marshall reminds me ...

Marshall reminds me of foster children I had years ago. They didn't ask for anything (this was really sad) because they didn't expect anything. But once, they knew they could ask for things - well you didn't want to go into a toy store with money!

It looks like the sock puppet met up with Lorrina Bobbet.
